Qalyptus Migration Tool

Qalyptus Migration Tool is a desktop application that automates the migration of your reporting content to Qalyptus. Instead of manually recreating reports, tasks, filters, and users in a new environment, you configure a migration once and run it.

Qalyptus Migration Tool supports only Qalyptus Server version 10 or later. If you are running an earlier version, you must upgrade before using the tool.

What gets migrated​

Depending on the source and target, the tool migrates:

  • Projects / Applications - with custom names, descriptions, and organization assignments
  • Reports - including report templates (converted from NPrinting tag format to Qalyptus format automatically)
  • Filters and conditions
  • Tasks (publish-type tasks)
  • Users and groups - with role mappings
  • Security roles
  • Connections (NPrinting to Qalyptus Server)
  • Destinations and storage services
  • SMTP server configuration
  • Trusted origins, LDAP connections, and SAML configuration (Enterprise, NPrinting to Qalyptus Server only)

Known limitations​

  • NPrinting PixelPerfect and QlikEntity report types are not supported in Qalyptus and will not be migrated.
  • Passwords are not migrated. Users must reset their passwords after migration. The administrator password is not modified.
  • The SMTP server password must be re-entered after migration.
  • LDAP connection passwords must be re-entered after migration.
  • Advanced search filters (NPrinting) have no equivalent in Qalyptus and will generate a warning.
  • QlikView connections with Cluster mode are not supported in Qalyptus.
  • Migration from Qalyptus Cloud to Qalyptus Server is not supported.

How it works​

  1. Create connections - connect the tool to your source (Qlik NPrinting or Qalyptus Server) and your target (Qalyptus Server or Qalyptus Cloud).
  2. Configure a migration - choose which apps, reports, tasks, and roles to migrate, and customize names and organization assignments.
  3. Run the migration - the tool resets the target environment and migrates all selected content automatically, logging every step.
