Deploying Qalyptus

This section covers everything you need to get Qalyptus up and running in your environment.

Depending on your use case, you may need to deploy one or both of the following components:

  • Qalyptus Desktop — Installed on the machines of users who design report templates and create projects. It connects directly to your Qlik Sense or QlikView environment.
  • Qalyptus Server — Installed on a dedicated server (or on the same machine as Qlik Sense). It handles scheduled report generation and distribution for your organization.

Deployment overview

Follow these steps in order to complete your Qalyptus deployment:

  1. Check system requirements — Verify that your machines meet the hardware and software prerequisites for Qalyptus Desktop and/or Qalyptus Server.
  2. Review supported languages — Confirm that the Qalyptus interface language meets your team's needs.
  3. Install Qalyptus Desktop — Run the installer on each user machine that will be used to design templates and manage projects.
  4. Install Qalyptus Server — Run the server installer, open the required ports, export Qlik Sense certificates, and complete the configuration wizard.
  5. Activate your license — Generate and apply your license keys from the Qalyptus Customer Portal.

Qalyptus Desktop and Qalyptus Server can be deployed on the same machine as Qlik Sense or on separate machines. Refer to the system requirements page for details on each scenario.
