Licensing Qalyptus
The Qalyptus Desktop license key is linked to the Windows account of the user who uses Qalyptus Desktop. A Qalyptus Desktop license is assigned to a single Windows user. Your license will be valid on all PCs if you log in with your Windows account.
The Qalyptus Server license key is linked to the machine's ID where Qalyptus Server is installed. If you want to install Qalyptus Server in a test environment, read the section "Non-production License".
Generate license key
Once your order is completed, go to the Licenses page on your Qalyptus Customer account page to generate a license key for each product.
To generate a new license, do the following:
- On the Licenses page, click Assign license
- Select the product: Qalyptus Desktop, Qalyptus Server, or Qalyptus Self-Reporting
- A new page will open
- Enter the user's full name and email address
- For Qalyptus Desktop, enter the user's Windows account (Domain\Username). The license will be valid only for this Windows account
- For Qalyptus Server, enter the Server ID, which is the ID of the machine where Qalyptus is installed
- Click Assign license
A license key will be created and sent to the user's email address. The license expiration date is calculated from the date of the license purchase.
The user's Windows account (DOMAIN\user) is visible in the License tab of Qalyptus Desktop. Click here to learn more.

The license cannot be reassigned to another user or machine during the subscription period. Exceptionally, you can contact Qalyptus support to reassign the license to another user or another machine.
Activate Qalyptus Desktop
You can view and manage your Qalyptus Desktop license on the License tab in the Settings. You may need to add or update your license if you:
- Add a new license for a newly installed Qalyptus Desktop instance.
- Add a new license when your old license has expired.
To activate Qalyptus Desktop before it expires, do the following:
- Obtain a license key from Qalyptus Customer account or from the email you receive from Qalyptus
- In Qalyptus Desktop, go to Settings > License
- The page below appears
- Paste your license key in the License key text area
- Click Apply to activate Qalyptus Desktop with the new license key
You will see the new expiration date of the license.
If your license has expired, when Qalyptus Desktop is launched, a window appears.
Click the OK Button, and the window below appears. Enter your license key, and click Apply.
Activate Qalyptus Server and Qalyptus Self-Reporting
To view and manage your Qalyptus Server license, go to Qalyptus Server > Administration > License. You may need to add or update your license if you have a newly installed Qalyptus Server instance or when your old license has expired.
To activate Qalyptus Server or Qalyptus Self-Reporting, do the following:
- Obtain a license key from Qalyptus Customer account or from the email you receive from Qalyptus
- In Qalyptus Server, go to Administration > License
- Select the product to activate: Qalyptus Server or Qalyptus Self-Reporting
- Paste your license key in the License key text area
- Click Update license to activate Qalyptus Server with the new license
You will see the new expiration date of the license.
Renew subscription (licenses)
You can renew your subscription 30 days before the subscription anniversary date. We recommend renewing your licenses sufficiently before the expiration date to avoid any break in use.
To renew licenses, do the following:
- Go to your Qalyptus Customer account > Your products page
- Click Renew subscription
- You will be redirected to the purchase page
- Check and modify, if necessary, your billing details and products
- Choose the payment method
- Accept the Terms of service
- Click Place order
After placing the order, members with Admin and Biller roles will receive the invoice by email. New license keys will be generated and sent by email to their owner. You can find them at any time on the Licences page.
If you choose to pay with "Bank transfer", the new license keys will be generated after we receive the payment. If you want to generate them before the payment, please get in touch with the Qalupytus support.
The next renewal date is one year after the subscription expiration date. If the subscription is renewed after the anniversary date, except in certain cases, the next renewal date is calculated from the renewal date.
Non-Production License (for non-production environments)
The Qalyptus Server license allows up to three activations of the same license: one production environment and two non-production environments, as defined in the End User License Agreement.
After installing Qalyptus Server on a non-production machine, send to the Qalupytus support the Qalyptus Server license key of the production environment with the Server ID of the non-production machine and we will create the license key for the non-production environment.
